Why the gutters come last
Moss and its debris wash down the roof for weeks after a soft wash, and scraped moss falls straight into the gutter. So the gutters are cleared after the roof, not before, and a good company comes back or tells you to look again after a few weeks of rain.
- Gutters scooped out by hand or vacuumed from the ground.
- Downpipes rodded if they're blocked.
- Joints and brackets looked at: a sagging run or a leaking joint is worth noting.
- Fascia and soffit washed at low pressure if they're green.
Overflowing gutters soak the wall below and the fascia behind them. If they're cracked or sagging rather than blocked, they need replacing, not cleaning.
